| Component | Function |
|---|---|
| Foam Concentrate Storage Tank | Stores foam concentrate; capacity shall satisfy continuous discharge duration requirements |
| Foam Pump | Transfers foam concentrate to the proportioner |
| Proportioner | Mixes foam concentrate with seawater at the designed ratio |
| Fire Water Pump (Seawater Pump) | Provides seawater for fire-fighting service |
| Foam Monitor / Handline Nozzle / Sprinkler Head | Foam solution discharge terminals |
| Piping and Control Valves | Delivers foam solution to respective protected areas |
| Control System | Monitors system status; supports remote / local operation |
Coverage and Smothering: Low expansion foam exhibits excellent flowability and spreading characteristics, rapidly forming a dense foam blanket on the burning liquid surface to effectively exclude oxygen.
High Wind Resistance: With high density and good adhesion properties, low expansion foam is minimally affected by strong wind conditions, making it suitable for exposed open-deck areas.
Effective on Class A & B Fires: Specifically engineered for extinguishing oil and chemical fires, delivering superior performance on hydrocarbon fires (crude oil, refined petroleum products, chemicals, etc.).
Seawater Compatibility: The system can directly utilize seawater as the proportioning water source, ideally suited for marine/offshore environments.
Methanol Compatibility: When configured with alcohol-resistant (AR) foam, the system effectively suppresses polar solvent fires, including methanol and ethanol.
Multi-Zone Protection: The system provides simultaneous or zoned protection for multiple high-hazard areas, including liquid cargo deck areas, machinery spaces, and fuel preparation rooms.
